Sora Standing Desk

The Sora began with a question we could not stop asking: why does adjustable-height furniture always look adjustable? Every mechanism we found was either hidden behind plastic or exposed in raw aluminium. Neither was right. We wanted a desk that rose and fell without announcing itself.

The answer was a turned ash column — the kind of detail you find on a lathe-worked stool leg, scaled up and made structural. The column houses the lift mechanism entirely. From across the room the desk looks as though it simply exists at whatever height you left it. No lever, no handle, no digital panel. A gentle press under the worktop surface releases the lock.

The top is solid walnut, 35 mm thick, with a flush cable channel along the rear edge. Oil finish applied in four coats, cured two weeks before shipping. Annual re-oiling with the same product is strongly recommended.
