Materials

Material is as important as form.

Every piece is made from solid hardwood only — no veneered MDF, no filler. Wood selection begins alongside the design.

Woods

Walnut

Dark, warm, and deeply grained, walnut is the primary wood of our collection. It richens with age; no two slabs are ever the same.

Oak

White oak offers hardness and a pronounced, consistent figure. Quarter-sawn to reveal the medullary rays that give the surface its silky, regular texture.

Ash

Pale and fine-grained, ash is ideal for steam-bending. The gentle curve of the Ren console is only possible in ash.

Finishes

Natural Oil

Penetrating protection that soaks into the grain rather than sitting on top. The wood remains tactile — you feel the grain, not a coating.

Beeswax

Applied by hand in three thin coats and buffed to a soft matte sheen. Deepens over time, carrying the imprint of use.

Hard-Wax Oil

A hybrid of oil and wax that offers greater resistance to daily use while preserving the texture of natural oil. Preferred finish for the Nagi sideboard.

Joinery

Okinora pieces use no adhesive or hidden fasteners — only traditional wood joinery: mortise and tenon, bridle joints, butterfly keys. Joints are visible because they deserve to be seen, not hidden.
